Sheriff Barnes Backs Kuo for Re-Election
IRVINE, Ca - Orange County Sheriff Don Barnes has endorsed Irvine Vice Mayor Anthony Kuo for the upcoming November election.
"Sheriff Barnes is a respected leader in our region who has consistently worked to keep Orange County safe," Kuo said. "His reputation of successfully working alongside, speaking to, and partnering with anyone who wants to keep us safe has yielded results and contributed to our quality of life," Kuo added.
"Anthony Kuo has a history of serving the Irvine community and partnering with local law enforcement," Barnes said. The Sheriff added, "You can count on Anthony is his pledge to keep Irvine safe as his top priority."
Kuo, first elected in 2018 after serving nearly eight years as a city Commissioner, is running for re-election to the Irvine City Council. During his time on the Council, he has worked to keep Irvine's neighborhoods safe, and to support programs serving children, youth, seniors, and families. Accomplishments from his first 4-year term in office have earned him the endorsements of the Irvine Police Association, Orange County Professional Firefighters, Crime Survivors PAC, the Orange County Business Council's BIZPAC, the Orange County Taxpayers Association OCTaxPAC, and that of residents and families throughout Irvine.

Vice Mayor Anthony Kuo is the first member of the Irvine City Council to have grown up in Irvine. First elected in 2018 after nearly eight years as a City Commissioner, he represents the City on the Boards of the Irvine Barclay Theatre and the Orange County Sanitation District. Kuo also represents the City on the Board of Directors of the Irvine Community Land Trust where he is President and the Orange County Fire Authority where he is Vice Chairman. Outside of City Hall, Kuo also serves on the Board of the Irvine Children's Fund and the Advisory Board of Crime Survivors Inc.
